On Thursday 19th May Queen Vic’s football team played away at Cotwell End Primary School. The squad were: Kian P, Kia B, Henry O, Rhys B, Jaiden G (Captain), Corey B, Tyler S Jude B, Riley F, Ronnie C, Josh E.
The match started with a fast pace and even though Queen Vic’ had chances, they found themselves 1-0 behind in the first couple of minutes by a well worked goal from Cotwall End. However, this didn’t stop Queen Vic’ as they pushed on to find an equaliser with Henry and Josh having chances to level it. There was some excellent defending from Kai, Corey and Jude but Cotwall End managed to find the net a couple more times before half time.
In the second half, Queen Vic’ pressed to find the goal and they tested the Cotwall goal keeper a couple of times. Rhys, Kai and Jaiden made some excellent challenges this half and Kian (Queen Vic GK) made some great saves! In the closing stages, Rhys came very close to scoring from a great cross from Kai.
Unfortunately, Queen Vic were not able to reduce the deficit and Cotwall End were victorious. The match ended Cotwall End 8 – 0 Queen Victoria.
